It has come to my attention that there have been a couple of incidents of verbal abuse directed towards our officials over the past couple of weeks. As a league we can not tolerate this behaviour . First off let me assure you that we have some of the finest touch football officials in the country. I have played touch football in league play or tournaments in six different Canadian cities from Ottawa to Kelowna and I truly believe we have some of the most dedicated and professional officials you can find. We have a very small core of officials who spread themselves pretty thin solely for the benefit of our league. Without their time and dedication this league would be in serious trouble. Our officials are aware when a close call is made that a discussion or even an argument can occur, however personal attacks of any official will result in an ejection and possible suspension from the league. Our officials have no agenda other then doing the best they can to make sure the game is fun and fair for both teams involved. I urge all players to take time at the end of the game to thank the ref for the job he or she did.
