Travis Tyler led the winning effort for Gators, throwing for four touchdowns.

Gators defeated Whalers 26 to 13 at Ellerslie Rugby Park on Thursday. Neither team managed to put points on the board in the first quarter. The second quarter was also scoreless. The game remained scoreless going into the fourth quarter as the defensive battle wore on. In the fourth quarter, with defenses wearing down, Gators outscored their opponents by 13 points and took the lead to claim the late win.

The Gators defense contributed to the victory. They picked off Whalers three times.

Gators ended up with a record of 3 and 2. Whalers ended the game with a record of 1-4.
